For many, many reasons. This blog is now going to be moved to here in an attempt to bring all my roleplay blogs into one place. I will be keeping this blog as an archive, but changing the url to something else so I can use merrillofthedalish for the side blog.
If you wish to start roleplaying with Merrill again then I suggest you follow that blog, and the side blog when I have created it.
Sorry for my shittyness :3
Merrill-mun, AKA, Becca.
Carver’s discomfort evaporated as she stopped fidgeting and gave him a wide smile. Merrill’s smile was extremely infectious, and so it was only a few seconds before he was grinning kindly back at her. “We’ll be here for you. Don’t you doubt it.” There was sincerity in his voice as he held her gaze, his smile still lingering on the corners of his mouth.
He visibly scowled at the mention of his sister, but didn’t voice his thoughts. Whenever he went to visit someone, their immediate thought was that she needed something. No one ever considered the possibility that perhaps Carver would like to talk to them. Even as he thought this, however, it struck him that this was probably because almost all of the people he knew in this Maker forsaken city were closer to his sister than they were to him.
“Not that I know of, no. I had to come into Lowtown anyway, so I thought I’d come and visit you.”
Merrill’s mind cast back to every time they had been there for her, every time they had helped her understand a reference or made sure she was safe in Kirkwall. “I don’t doubt it for a second.”
Her eyebrows knitted together as she saw Carver scowl. What it something she said? She only asked because it was so unusual to have him visit, it was an automatic reaction. Her smile widened as he answered he question, delighted that he had came to visit her.
"Oh! Well, that’s kind of you." She looked over to the door of her home. "Would you like to come back to my home?" Merrill then looked back at Carver. "Unless, of course, you’re just here for a quick visit- you don’t have to come in if you want to you!"
I love this so much.
#there is probably a reason why i can’t play a male hawke seriously#it’s this PERFECT FUCKING WOMAN right here#goddamn#badass female characters who are just like the men#and fucking unapologetic about it#strong female characters#omfg look a female MC who doesn’t need to be sexualized#has sex when she fucking feels like it#and it’s normal outside of ferelden apparently to have female rulers#and i have a lot of feelings about marian okay#leandra so clearly expected a little girl who would grow into a motherly role just as she’d been thrust into one and grew to love it herself#and instead she gets marian who takes after her father in every way#from his humour to his heart#and sometimes the less desirable things too#leandra got a little girl who was absolutely nothing like her and she’s so perplexed and awed and quietly proud#if not somewhat resentful because it’s such a different sort of strength than she’s used to wielding#but marian isn’t a man either and she knows it#‘peculiar talents’ they’re often called#but she knows every woman has them#the strength is inherent#both born and bred#the nurturing helps as surely as her father helped her and for that she’s immensely thankful#but she surrounds herself with women who likewise carry this same strength#and that definitely says something for self image#MARIAN HAWKE IS EMPOWERING AS FUCK AND I REFUSE TO HEAR OTHERWISE
I wondered why this was being circulated again and then I look and see this amazing commentary. Gotta put this on my blog because yes.
Merrill never heard anything from Mahariel after he left with the grey warden. Years later Isabela mentions having sparred with a dalish warden back at the Pearl in Denerim, and Anders lets slip a story or two about his time with the warden commander and his antivan lover back in Ferelden.
Merrill is relieved to hear that Mahariel is still alive, though she isn’t sure what to think of the image presented by their stories. She didn’t remember him being quite that naughty…
I thought DA2 was an amazing game, but I will forever be angry that they slapped some generic hairstyle on Merrill instead of the awesome one in her concept art. Bioware pls.
Also that you can’t romance Varric what the heck Bioware.
All these are by quargon on deviantart, because Merrill needs more love dammit.
I think I give up for now. Merrill in Stained Glass style
